Lots of businesses can be started and run from the home, and almost anyone can do it.

The main things to get you started in most cases will be a telephone and a computer with internet access.

There are many ways to earn money by working from home, either for yourself or for others, but always with a very short commute - from the bedroom to the lounge!

It is true that there are work from home opportunities, but there are also mistakes to be made. There are pitfalls to working from home, but with a little bit of reading and research they are easy to identify and avoid. You should always do your own research when assessing a company to work for or, indeed, when looking to set up your own work from home opportunity. Ask lots of questions and make sure you understand exactly what

is going on at every step.

I have been working from home since end of the 90's when a back injury prevented me from travelingto work and the pain was too much when I was stressed. I needed something low impact and low stress but with enough money to support myself. Working from home seemed like the best option.

Some of the working from home opportunities I became involved in included:

Property Investing, Building website's Affiliate marketing, Network marketing (not as awful as it seems), Referrals, Fostering

Out of all these opportunities I learned a lot - I started off working very hard to make lots of money in property, to loosing it all in a bad investment, then realising there was more to life than money. I am maintaining a couple of website'sthat bring generate a reasonable passive income. I also have past work (residual) income regularly coming in from some network marketing I did back in 2002 (I am no longer active).

One organisation that specialise's in supporting those who work from home is the Home Business Alliance (HBA), here is what they say about themselves:

"The HBA, formed in June 1993, is the only trade association which specialise's in home businesses. The HBA exists only to serve the interests of its members - the self-employed, freelancers, small family businesses and those wanting to set up their own home business. The HBA receives no money from commercial sponsors, such as the banks, or from classical advertising." "Because The HBA is unrestrained by the need to please commercial sponsors and advertisers, both it and its members are free to give their unbiased views and unbiased information both in "The BOSS" (the private journal for HBA members) and on the HBA website."

What is a squeezel - Quoting the urban dictionary a Squeezel affectionately means a person who attempts to squeeze every last dollar from ones pocket. It is also a vietnamese term for a porcupine and my personal explaination for a squirrel crossed with a weasel when I can't identify which one it is I saw run across the road in front of the car!
